Women's Chronic Pain and Prescription Opioid Use Webinar March 2024

This project involved creating sex, gender, equity, and trauma informed resources for providers that reflect women’s lived and living experiences with chronic pain and prescription opioids. We spoke with women with lived/living experiences, consulted with providers, examined the literature, and analyzed Canadian policy documents on chronic pain with a sex and gender lens. In this webinar, we present our research findings and the resources we created for women and service providers, including infographics, treatment sheets, information packages, and a course for service providers or people interested in learning more about women's chronic pain and experiences with prescribed opioids. We also discuss the incorporation of sex, gender, and equity factors into chronic pain and opioid use considerations for policy and practice.
