This was supposed to be a clean and easy mod… instead I ended up breaking my Cammus C5 direct drive wheel and sitting on 3 hours of footage for nearly a year. In this video, I'm finally revisiting the chaotic process of trying to mod the Cammus C5 using two mods from 3DRap: a GT3-style custom steering wheel rim and a magnetic paddle shifter upgrade. The idea was simple—upgrade the tiny stock paddles and swap out the basic rim for something that looks and feels more like a real GT3 car. But things didn’t go as planned. From confusing YouTube tutorials to hidden screws and molded connectors, this wheel mod quickly spiraled into a full-on DIY disaster. By the end of the video, I’d successfully put it all back together—only to discover that the buttons didn’t work… and maybe I broke something in the process. This is not just a modding video—it’s also a bit of a cautionary tale. If you're a sim racer thinking about modding your Cammus C5, this video is a must-watch.
