Bishop Ireton punches their ticket to the WCAC Championship with a 60-53 win over St. John’s in the WCAC Girls Semifinal. Ireton led from start to finish in a physical, high-stakes matchup and now advances to the WCAC title game for just the second time in program history. Freshman Nina McEldon led Bishop Ireton with 18 points and dominated the glass with 20 rebounds in a standout performance. Jaida McKenzie and Georna Davis added 11 points each to help power the Cardinals on both ends of the floor. For St. John’s, Morgan Stewart finished with 16 points while Cara Nesmith added 13 in the effort. Bishop Ireton controlled the boards 35-31 and made the key plays down the stretch to secure the semifinal victory.
