Master Hai Yang, born and raised in Tianjin, China, began his Xing Yi training at the age of 6 under the guidance of his grandfather, Yang Qinglin, a disciple of Zhang Zhaodong. In his adolescent years, he also began practicing Cheng-style Ba Gua, Xing Yi - Ba Gua Palm, also under his grandfather's guidance, Chen-style Tai Chi from Master Ma Hong and his own uncle, Yang Fengwu, different practices of Qi Gong such as Zhineng and Wild Goose, and of course, Daoism. Till date, he has amassed close to 50 years worth of practice experience, almost 40 of which also include extensive teaching experience in China, Canada, the US, Europe, as well as online. Since May 2020, Master Yang has been regularly publishing lecture videos on his YouTube channel covering theoretical as well as practical aspects of the Internal Martial Arts, Daoism and Qi Gong. Master Yang founded DAOI a couple of years ago with the aim of bringing together practitioners in the community and elevating the overall standard of practice within the community.
