Topping My FrankenBacon Again

It’s always beneficial for my Bacon #Avocado Tree to get pruned back as it’s a heavy grower. I did a good 25% last year. This early spring, I’m doing a heavier topping, about 50%. A few reasons why this is beneficial in my case: 1) it manages the height to a reasonable and reachable height for me, 2) it encourages bushier growth down low, rather than growing into the sky as the #baconavocado likes to do, and 3) most importantly for me is I want the energy of this tree to go more toward the grafts that I’m more excited about, principally the Palo D’Oro, the Lamb Hass and the Second Red.
