Past Life As Dominatrix Jeopardizes Cop's Career
WHAT MAKES A COP? Bayonne resident Kristen Hyman was recently sworn in as a Hudson County (NJ) Sheriff's Officer -- but her former life as a dominatrix may prevent her from protecting and serving her community. Hyman worked as a dominatrix for hire and appeared in several explicit bondage videos between 2010 and 2012, but maintains she stopped doing so years before she applied to become a sheriff's deputy. Officials with the sheriff's department argue her failure to disclose her past appearances in the films constitutes behavior unbecoming a member of the force. She was suspended without pay on May 26, just a week before she was slated to graduate from the police academy. Hyman's attorneys successfully got her suspension knocked down to modified duty, but her long-term status with the sheriff's department will be determined at a June 27 hearing. Retired NYPD Sgt.
