What have I got myself into? I just wanted to take a ride into the Albanian Mountains, the Theth National Park! I didn’t know that I soon will find myself on the infamous K1 Route. The K1 route in Albania has gained a reputation for being one of the most scenic but also one of the most dangerous roads in Europe. The road is known for its narrow and winding turns, steep inclines and declines, and lack of guardrails in some sections. In addition, the road can become treacherous during bad weather conditions or in the winter months when snow and ice can make driving particularly hazardous. Despite the risks, the K1 is still a popular destination for adventure seekers and tourists who want to experience the stunning scenery of the Albanian Alps. Buckle up guys and enjoy the ride!
