John Deere 430 Two Cylinder Standard Tractor Transmission Rebuild Part Three: Setting the Pinion E16

Third video in a series documenting the disassembly and rebuild of the transmission/final drive unit of a John Deere 430 Standard Two Cylinder Tractor. In this video we establish the Pinion Cone Point and Bearing Preload. The transmissions of Dubuque 320 330 40 420 440 430 and 435 tractors have similarities but there are differences across different tractor models. Components like transmission cases, lengths of power shafts, and ring/pinion gear ratios can differ between Tricycle, Row Crop Utility, Standard, Crawler, Standard, etc. tractors. This video may not reflect the exact makeup of your model tractor. Future videos in this series will cover full reassembly of this five speed, live power take off optioned transmission. My techniques and tools are probably not the industry standard, my approach to what is removed/installed is random and haphazard. Obviously I have no training or credentials that justify me walking anyone thru this process or this project.
