A girl announcing that the film was made in cooperation with the Deutsche Reichspost. - Radio tower transmitting electrical waves (animation). Sound waves and picture waves. A television receiver. Screen and loudspeaker. "How can the picture be transmitted?" - Newspaper photo. Magnifying lens shows the dots which make it up. - "The same method is used in TV". Animation of TV picture: 180 lines, 200 dots per line, 40,000 dots per picture. - A bright dot moving along the lines. "25 frames per second, one million dots per second." The dot becomes faster and faster until the picture seems to be still. - Animation: a ray scans the picture. A photocell emits electrical impulses of variable power - hence the differences in brightness. The receiver: in a Braun tube the impulses are transformed into dots (and finally pictures) again. - "Modern television does not only show stills but real people." Girl in booth. Engineer at controls. Girl in booth; next to her the screen where she can be seen as well. The girl announces the frequencies of the station. Test transmissions: People watch in a hall. A man thinks it is a gimmick and a fake: "The girl is inside the set!" The man at the set says that the girl is in the TV laboratory of the Reichspost. He phones her. She is seen on the screen answering the phone. "Oh, again somebody who won't believe that this isn't a fake." Girl talks about the possibilities of TV: "Instantaneous transmission." She brings on her dog. Barking. - Laughing audience. - Girl: "We can also show films." A film is loaded onto a projector. Girl announces the film. The film starts: "Segen aus Blueten - Segen fuer Euch!" (Culture film on bees and pollen) as to be seen on the TV screen. Girl: "You can also broadcast performances and events. Inside and outside. This is called the "Zwischenfilm-Verfahren" (The intermediate process)". Animation of how this process works: A camera on a van films on ordinary film stock. The film is fed from the camera directly down into the van where it is processed immediately. In less than a minute the processed film can be broadcast by the "Ferntonkinosender" in the van ("Tele-sound-cinema-transmitter"). Transmission from the opera house: man sings operetta, girls dance (supposedly on TV screen). - Girl: "We can do even more today: Two people can do long-distance calls and see each other!" Diagram: Two TV phone booths ("Gegensehzellen") in different areas of a city. - Two people go into TV phone booths. Inside: The man phones the girl. They talk and see each other (the girl remarks that the man's tie isn't in order). Girl announces: "TV stations see everything. They are the eye of the world." - In a laboratory: People work on improvements o TV. - "For TV you have to use ultra short waves. Their range is limited." Animation shows: the higher the transmitter the further the range of the waves. - A van going to the Brocken (3300 ft.) in the Harz mountains. At the top: twelve vans. A mobile broadcasting station. The station on the top: the "Brockensender". - A huge crowd of people. "There will be a day when everybody is able to watch TV". - Montage of car race, aircrafts, bicycle race, boat race, horse race, gymnastics, tennis, boxing, football.
