Mackay Tourism Video (1958) - 'Coral City in the Sun'

Coral City in the Sun (1958) - Queensland Tourist Bureau Described as a "travelogue" by the director, this is a promotional film about Queensland, depicting the beaches, marine life and coral of Brampton Island, Lindeman Island and Mackay. Includes scenes, which depict a range of other activities such as horse-riding, lawn bowling, tennis, and golf. There are shots of pineapple and sugarcane crops, harvesting of coconut leaves for weaving hats and fruit for consumption. Footage of boats and visits to beach side locations throughout the Whitsundays including coconut trees, whale watching, shells, rockpools, water skiing, views of the underwater life at the Great Barrier Reef.
