ALRIGHT, LET’S SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT: we didn’t cook the pizza on top of the mountain—because hauling a wood-fired oven up there would’ve been nuts (even for us). BUT we did make some epic pizza at our campsite and then chairlifted those beauties straight to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s tallest peak. 🍕⛰️ It’s a family adventure filled with crispy crusts, cheese dreams, and just enough chaos to keep it real. We’re talking wood-fired perfection at base camp, scenic lifts with pizza in tow, and the kind of wholesome shenanigans that scream "Good Ol’ Time." And for all you foodies out there, here are the recipes we used for this adventure: Wood-Fired Pizza Dough Recipe Ingredients: 3 1/2 cups (500g) plain flour 1 1/4 cups (300ml) warm water 1 tsp salt 2 tsp (7g) active dry yeast 2 tbsp olive oil Instructions: Mix warm water and yeast; let it sit until frothy (5-10 minutes). Combine flour, salt, yeast mixture, and olive oil; knead for 8-10 minutes. Let rise for 2 hours in an oiled bowl. Punch down, shape into balls, and let rest for another 2 hours. Stretch, top, and bake at 250°C/480°F for 8-12 minutes. Chicken Meatballs in Tomato Sauce Recipe Ingredients for Meatballs: 4 green onions, finely chopped 1 small bunch of basil, finely chopped 1 Roma tomato, grated 1/2 small onion, grated 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs 2 slices of bread, soaked in grated tomato juice 1 egg 500g chicken mince Salt and black pepper, to taste Ingredients for Sauce: 2 cloves garlic, chopped 2 cans Mutti tomatoes, grated 1 small bunch of basil Salt and black pepper, to taste Water (to cover meatballs) Instructions: Combine all meatball ingredients, form into small balls, and fry until golden. Sauté garlic, add grated Mutti tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes. Add meatballs back in, cover with water, and simmer for 20-25 minutes. LIKE. SUBSCRIBE.
