The catfish are getting ready to spawn. Typically towards the end of May and all of June, the catfish will spawn. It can be difficult to catch big fish, but there are plenty of catfish to be caught between 1-30 lbs. When catfish are getting ready to spawn, they will have open sores, wounds, scratches, and bloody patches on their mouth, fins, and tail.
