Bringing it home. Iβve had an incredible time touring the USA as WeldLabs & the opportunity to bring the end of this educational tour to my home state of Utah, and the very school where I struck my first welding arc. Openly sharing the things Iβve learned, tried, practiced, and proved, directly with all of this community, and the local community Iβm from is very very special. Even small details that are easily overlooked or missed can have a major impact on someone & the simple willingness to share those things can drive so many people forward towards their goals. When we build up those around us, it elevates everyone. You may have heard a little bit of how I began this journey into the welding industry, and this is the place it all started. Iβve felt incredibly lucky to have fallen into the welding program ran by Mr. Willoughby & his willingness to support the passion he saw in me. I see he continues to carry that same support to all of his students and hope they know how great that is. My interest in welding began with my love and enjoyment in Music, which unlikely sparked my interest and career in working with Metal. My first welding project was the bike shown in this video, inspired by a music video I saw when I was 13yrs or so. Itβs far from perfect, but built from an eager mind, dedication, excitement, and perseverance. For myself, building the ability to create with metal, is an amazingly powerful feeling. Sharing this feeling with others and helping them grow into their personal goals, I hope can only make positive change through our industry. Sharing experience directly with students and educators is extremely important in connecting the welding industry together as a whole. One of the best parts of outwardly sharing information and teaching others, is what can be learned ourselves. Explaining, giving, and teaching what we already know, can open up so much more room for ourselves to grow & it may accidentally teach us some things we would never find otherwise. I love welding. -Rush Video by Jesse Larson
