Keynote von Neil Selwyn auf dem University:Future Festival. Most of our discussions presume that digital technologies will continue to play a central role in the future university. In this presentation, Neil Selwyn tests such 'digital first' assumptions in light of growing concerns over the possible long-term social and environmental unsustainability of digital technologies. Key questions to consider include: How can we talk about digital education futures in light of the growing environmental harms arising from digital technology production and use? How can we endorse digital education futures that are likely to exacerbate social inequalities and disadvantage already disadvantaged populations? In light of these issues, Neil Selwyn outlines some alternate 'radically sustainable' ways that we might like to anticipate future forms of digital education that work towards the common good and towards sustainable futures. /// Drei Tage rund um die Zukunft der Hochschulbildung: Unter dem Motto “Heads Up!” fand das University:Future Festival (U:FF) vom 26. bis 28. Als größtes und innovativstes Event zu den Zukünften akademischer Bildung in der DACH-Region bot das Festival bilingual auf Deutsch und Englisch ein umfassendes Programm mit über 300 Vorträgen, Workshops, Diskussionen und Mikrofortbildungen, die aus 620 Einreichungen einer internationalen Hochschulcommunity ausgewählt wurden. Organisiert wurde das University:Future Festival 2023 vom Hochschulforum Digitalisierung und der Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre. Unterstützt wurde es vom Stifterverband. The festival addressed a broad range of topics around AI, architectures, technology, strategy development, competences, didactics and much more in the context of the opportunities and challenges of the digital transformation. As the largest and most innovative event on the future of academic education in the DACH region, the festival, bilingual in German and English, offers a comprehensive programme with over 300 talks, workshops, discussions and micro training sessions selected from 620 submissions from an international university community.
