We floated the Staunton River from Leesville Dam to the Altavista boat ramp, kayak fishing the whole way — chasing smallmouth, largemouth, and bluegill. Things were going great until a nasty storm rolled in FAST. With thunder cracking and skies turning black, we had to paddle like mad for 4 miles just to make it out safely. We still managed to land some fish, including a few topwater bites before the chaos. One wild day on the water!
