So I built the surrounding tracks to let it rise naturally. Later in the mix, I introduce The Sorcerer (Remastered) by Herbie Hancock. Bringing pure jazz into a soul-driven DJ mix requires careful preparation. By grounding the earlier selections in warm soul and groove-heavy textures, the transition into Herbie’s sophisticated jazz language feels organic and smooth. To deepen the spiritual tone, I included Astral Traveling by Pharoah Sanders — a cosmic meditation that connects beautifully with Lonnie’s universe.
