Magazine1 Launch Party: Celebrating Issues 2 & 3

Magazine1 is celebrating the release of its second and third issues with a reading from several of its contributors! Magazine1 is a literary magazine based out of Bookstore1 in Sarasota, Florida. The editorial team is a combination of the bookstore staff and a few wonderful volunteers from the community. Our magazine is an online publication and features works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, visual art, and hybrid work that may not fit evenly into any other genres as they are traditionally understood. Magazine1 serves as both a showcase of excellent writing from around the world, but also as a literary hub for the Sarasota/St. Pete/Tampa area. We showcase work that challenges our ingrained understanding of what writing is as well as who it is that is writing. Our mission is to create a space in which writers can explore the reaches of their imagination and, in that space, cultivate a diverse community, both locally in the Sarasota area and the nation over.
