If you’re attempting these peaks without camping and splitting it up, I would highly recommend that you do longer 14ers and have excellent physical fitness. This was a very long day from the trail head. We ran into some boys from Iowa who had terrible altitude sickness and we’re very unprepared, and another person who ran out of water (which we had to give them some). Lastly, on our way up to Kit Carson at the Avenue, two women had to call the sheriff because they heard consistent screaming for 15 minutes and then silence. Please don’t take the mountains lightly, wear a helmet, yell rock if you launch one, study the route, and always be vigilant. I would highly recommend bringing a water filter and more REAL food than you think on this hike as well.
