Eventually those layers in the middle get cloudy, so it starts to feel like you're looking through a dirty window. Cataract surgery is when a surgeon removes the "dirty" lens and puts a new, clear lens in. Most commonly, a lens that is best for distance vision will be put in, which may still require glasses for reading. Unfortunately, even surgery can't stop the eyes from aging.
