Just a short Sunday morning walk round the town. I have been making some changes to the way I do the Video workflow and have established that I prefer the 'Open Gate' 3:2 format rather than the wider 16:9 format that is mostly used for video these days. I worked out that I was struggling with editing so much as I was importing the H265 files straight from my Lumix S9 into the editor and now realise they need to be first transcoded into an 'edit friendly' format. I have found a free open source tool called 'Shutter Encoder' which converts to DNxHR HQX, and they now import in less than a second whereas before I was constantly crashing my editor trying to feed it H265 which is a very processor hungry format. It keeps the workflow as 10 bit throughout right up to the point of rendering to an 8 Bit H264 File.
