Spotted Joe Pye Weed Identification

Hey guys in this video we take a look at the identification features of a medicinal plant called Spotted Joe Pye Weed. Identifying it is easy thanks to its spotted stem, from which it gets it's name. As well as it's long lance shaped leaves with teeth or serrations running sown the sides. It's flowers can be light purple to whitish pink usually appearing from May to September. This plant has been used for many things, but it gets it's name from Joe Pye, who used the plant to induce sweating in Typhoid Fever. A relative of Boneset and a species of Eupatorium, this plant can be found in moist clearings and low lying areas.
