Special thanks to Ryan Essenburg and the people at Tommy Car Wash Systems for their hospitality Tommy’s Express’s Sarasota is the newest and first location in Florida, which takes the current side model and combines it with some of the newest technology and a shorter wash tunnel. This site is scheduled to open next week, and I was fortunate enough to not only run through the wash as it was being tested, but even get a tour of the facility. However, I wasn’t able to get an in-bay perspective which is fine since I will revisit this site next week once it opens. This specific facility was originally planned to be opened as Aqua Dome Express Car Wash before the owners converted to a franchised location, which explains why the roof is blue and doesn’t match the red building. Outside the building, it features free self-serve vacuums, mat cleaners, and the brand new license plate recognition as opposed to the traditional RFID. The tunnel itself is 110’ long, and features an interesting configuration. The Rainbow Coat™ service is applied at the entrance of the tunnel, while the FIRE Red Hot Lava is applied in the middle. This is because RC is being advertised as a more important service. As an addition, this facility features Tommy’s patented DryTex drying huggers, which were surprisingly not combined with heated blowers at the end. Wash quality analysis: Excellent cleaning, no real complaints. Drying quality was above average. Overall, Tommy’s Express Car Wash is an amazing facility with some of the nicest staff, best cleaning results, and well maintained equipment. I would definitely give this place a recommendation, and I look forward to the other planned Tommy’s site coming to Florida!
