The International Relations Council is excited to partner with the KC Futures Youth Commission to present a panel discussion for high school students, college students, and young professionals looking to expand their horizons - as we hear from a panel of IRC members who are excited to share experiences, insights, and stories about finding scholarships or programs that allowed them to spend time abroad! This discussion, moderated by former Eliot S. Berkley Award recipient and KC Futures Youth Commission Chairperson, Kerav Agarwal, is meant to empower and inspire our audience to search out opportunities to create their own global future! About The Speakers: Reginald Black is a substitute teacher in the Shawnee Mission School District, and an active IRC Member. From March - August 2025, Reginald was a part of the German Bundestag's International Parliamentary Scholarship program, interning for Omid Nouripour of the Green Party, one of the Vice Presidents of the Bundestag. Mahmoud Diallo is a student of International Relations at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. A native of Guinea, Mahmoud has found home in Kansas City, but has not let that stop him from further travels and experiences! In the 2024-25 academic year, he was the recipient of a Gilman International Scholarship, which allowed him to spend a year studying in Meknes, Morocco. About The Moderator: Kerav Agarwal serves as Chair of the Kansas City Futures Youth Commission, appointed by Mayor Lucas and the City of Kansas City. A senior at Pembroke Hill School, he has shown a deep commitment to international relations, most prominently through founding 2Republics, a student-led platform exploring the future of U.S.–India relations through interviews, research, and youth-driven content. In the summer of 2025, he was selected as a member of the Yale Young Global Scholars cohort, for Politics, Economics, and Law, one of the world’s most diverse and prestigious academic programs. For his leadership and achievements, Kerav was recognized in 2024 by the International Relations Council with the Eliot S. Berkley Award & Scholarship.
