"Starparade, episode 26, May 16, 1974." "As a curiosity of this episode of "Starparade", James Last plays the version of the theme: "Summertime" that appeared on his album: "Well Kept Secret" (The production of it was made during the month of January 1975, in the studios "Record Plant" of Los Angeles). The flute solo of the beginning of the song, in this version played a few months earlier in this program, May 16, 1974, is by Karl-Hermann Lüer, saxophone, accordion and flutist of the James Last orchestra. The original version of the album with American studio musicians is interpreted by Tom Scott (American saxophonist, composer, arranger, conductor and leader of the west coast jazz fusion ensemble, The LA Express.) His best-known work is the theme-tune for the 1970 TV series "Starsky and Hutch". He has made 26 solo recordings, numerous films and television scoring credits and countless appearances on records by such diverse artists as Pink Floyd, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Steely Dan, Quincy Jones and Frank Sinatra He is also an original member of The Blues Brothers Band and noted for playing the Lyricon and flute)."
