Welcome back to the homestead! Today, we’re introducing you to the heart of our farm — our growing flock of poultry. Come with us as we walk the property and show you all the birds that make this lifestyle so rewarding, including our chickens, peacocks, pheasants, turkeys, and guineas. This is a relaxed, real look at daily homestead life and the animals we care for, perfect for anyone interested in starting a homestead, raising poultry, or learning more about self-sufficient living. Our Flock of Chickens are 5 months old to 1.5 years old with most under 1 year of age. So, we're just getting started, but hope you enjoy the farm and grow along with us. We have over 300 individual birds with all the types of poultry we raise. Our goal is to open our own hatchery and within 2 years we'd like to be one of the biggest breeders of Red Golden Pheasants in the South West United States. Today's video is just the breeder pens or most of them and we have many birds running the property as free-range birds. If you enjoy real homestead life, learning as we go, and watching our farm grow, we’d love to have you along for the journey. Subscribe, like the video, and drop a comment to say hello — we truly enjoy hearing from you. Rather than diving too deep into the details just yet, this video is meant to give you a full overview of our flock so you can get familiar with each species. In upcoming videos, we’ll break down each type of bird — how we raise them, what we’ve learned, the mistakes we’ve made, and tips to help beginners succeed. Be sure to watch until the end because we got a completely unexpected surprise on the farm… baby chicks we weren’t planning on! Moments like these are why we love the homestead life. If you enjoy authentic homesteading, farm animals, and learning as you grow, and all things related to Homesteading you’re in the right place. mailto:cookaprile1@gmail.com #homesteading #raisingchickens #farmlife
