Can 4070 Ti run Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart at Max settings (incl. Very High textures and full RT) without any issues related to VRAM capacity? At what resolution will it run out of VRAM? Let's find out! Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is probably the most demanding game in terms of VRAM consumption. It uses very detailed textures and three RT effects (reflections, shadows and ambient occlusion). Plus, it is the first game that relies on RTX IO GPU-accelerated storage technology. Even after a few patches, the latest version (v1.922.0.0) still suffers from several issues: 1) It has framepacing issue in "Full Screen" mode and "Windowed mode", so you have to use "Exclusive Full Screen" mode to get smooth controls. 2) It stutters in some location even if it is installed on NVME SSD. Looks like it is mostly CPU-related problem. 3) Texture quality influences the GPU performance quite significantly. 4) Using DLSS does not decrease VRAM consumption, while in all other games I tested DLSS always reduces VRAM consumption. Usually the more aggressive preset you choose, the less VRAM a game consumes. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the first and only game that behaves differently. 00:00 Introduction 00:18 Does texture quality influence GPU performance? 00:52 Does DLSS allocate/use less VRAM than DLAA? 02:48 Are 12GB enough for native 1440p Maxed Out? 05:31 How about native 1080p Maxed Out?
