The 1.2-acre botanical garden located downtown was a gift now maintained by the City of Lakeland Parks & Recreation with continued support from the Hollis family’s perpetual care fund. April marks the start of the spring/summer hours; meaning guests have 2 additional hours this month to enjoy all Hollis Garden has to offer. The grounds feature Neoclassical architecture, patterned flower beds, public sculptures, and ornamental fountains. Classical music greets visitors as they enjoy thousands of flowers in a series of themed gardens. A favorite with local photographers, Hollis Garden is a popular backdrop for special occasions like prom and wedding photos. It’s also an ideal location to shoot nature photography with a macroscopic lens.
