What follows is a prolonged two-day pursuit across the Pacific as we maintain contact, rearm, and continue striking the retreating enemy force. Over the course of the hunt, three Japanese carriers are sunk after repeated air attacks and follow-up strikes. Despite heavy losses, Kaga manages to escape, withdrawing from the battlespace battered but afloat.
