中文CHINESE|南无韦驮菩萨|Namo Wei Tuo PuSa|Skanda Bodhisattva Wei Tuo Pusa: The Ever-Watchful Protector Who is Wei Tuo Pusa? He is a bodhisattva—a being of great compassion who has taken a sacred vow to protect the Buddha's teachings. Long ago, he was a prince named "Prince of the Dharma Mind" who promised to guard the thousand Buddhas of this virtuous age. For this reason, he appears in the form of a heavenly general, wearing golden armor and holding a vajra staff. Some may call him a heavenly general, for he serves as the leader of the thirty-two celestial generals under the Four Heavenly Kings. But he is far more than that. The Buddha himself prophesied that Wei Tuo will be the very last Buddha of this era—the thousandth Buddha, known as "Lou Zhi Fo." Until that distant day, he chooses to wear armor and stand guard. There is an ancient story from the time just after the Buddha entered nirvana. Evil demons stole the Buddha's sacred relics under cover of darkness. But Wei Tuo moved faster than the wind, faster than light itself. He pursued the demons, recovered the relics, and returned them safely. From that moment, he became known as the guardian who never falters. Wei Tuo protects all who sincerely learn and practice the Buddha's Dharma. He is called "Three Realms Responsive" because he travels across the eastern, southern, and western continents—wherever the Dharma exists—guarding monks, nuns, and lay practitioners who cultivate with true heart. Only the northern continent, where beings enjoy great pleasure but have no Dharma, does not receive his presence. This is why, before reading a Buddhist sutra or mantra, it is good to chant his name. In Chinese temples, every morning the monks recite the "Wei Tuo Praise" after their chanting. At the end of many Buddhist texts, his image is printed as a reminder of his protection. He is the general who never sleeps. The warrior who never wavers. The protector who hears every call. So before you open your Buddhist book, before you chant your mantra, you may softly say: "Namo Wei Tuo Pu Sa" 南無韋馱菩薩 And know that he stands beside you, vajra staff in hand, guarding your heart as you walk the path. (MO HER SA) ------------------------------------------------------------ This video is for entertainment purposes only.
