SheiKra is a steel Dive Coaster roller coaster at the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay amusement park in Tampa, Florida, United States. The roller coaster was proposed by Mark Rose, vice-president of design and engineering for the park, and designed by Bolliger & Mabillard. Facts: SheiKra was the world's first dive coaster installment with a splashdown element. It was North America's first dive coaster and the world's tallest and fastest ride of its kind. The name "SheiKra" derives from a Shikra, a hawk known to dive straight down for its prey. SheiKra used to include floors on every one of the ride's trains. The ride's loading station was modified and the retractable floors needed to be added in favor of SheiKra's floorless conversion in 2007.
