Follow these steps to Learn how to remove and replace IR board for the HP ENVY 17-cg0000 Laptop PC: Removal Before you begin: Remove the base enclosure, battery, and heat sink. Disconnect the IR board ribbon cable from its ZIF connector on the system board. Remove the P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the IR board to the top cover. Carefully lift the IR board out of the top cover and remove. Disconnect the IR board ribbon cable from its ZIF connector on the IR board. Replacement Connect the IR board ribbon cable to the ZIF connector on the IR board. Gently insert the IR board onto its alignment pin on the top cover. Replace the P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the IR board to the top cover. Connect the IR board ribbon cable to the ZIF connector on the system board. Caution: Improperly installing or replacing parts could damage your HP device or void your warranty. Before replacing any parts, check your warranty.
