How To Make an Origami Fortune Teller (also known as Chatterbox or Cootie Catcher). A paper fortune teller is an origami game which features 4 outer squares (colored in 4 different colors), 8 inner flaps (labelled with numbers 1-8) and 8 hidden written fortunes underneath. Fortunes can be personalised messages, positive comments or future predictions. Fortune examples include: Something amazing is coming your way Something great will happen today You will receive a surprise today Give someone a hug Tell a joke Do something nice for someone today How To Play: 1. Place your thumb and index fingers into the 4 bottom pockets. 2. Ask someone to choose a color then move the fortune teller in and out and side to side for each letter count. If they choose ‘blue’, that is 4 letters, so move the teller in and out 4 times. 3. Ask the player to choose one of the 4 numbers that are visible. Open and close the teller that many times. If they choose 3, open and close 3 times. 4. Ask the player to choose one final number from the inside. Lift that number flap up and read the fortune to the player. Use your imagination to create your own fortune teller.
