From the book: "First came the blood, then came the power." ♥ "Now we've got problems and I don't think we can solve 'em. You made a really deep cut, and now we've got bad blood." I want to clarify the symbolism I intended by the flashing of the crucifix when Carrie's mother is "crucified" against the door. The novel, interviews with Stephen King & Kimberly Peirce, & the original script of Carrie 2013 make it clear that Carrie is an avenging angel sent by God to cut down the wicked. Basically, neither Carrie's mother nor her classmates followed Jesus's commandments of kindness towards others, so they didn't accept Jesus's sacrifice for their sins, and had to endure the consequences of their sins themselves. And "the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) "The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice lawlessness. And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Matthew 13:41-42) "There was something Carrie was supposed to do. Something about...an angel with a fiery sword." (From the book) Of course I personally view this all on a symbolic level; instead of actual death and fire, I view it as symbolic of the overcoming of evil. I believe this is the case for both Carrie and the Bible stories. Movie clips: Carrie 2013 Song: Bad Blood Rock Cover by SilenceTheCity Lyrics: "So take a look what you've done 'cause now we got bad blood... Now we got problems and I don't think we can solve them You made a really deep cut, and now we got bad blood Did you have to do this? I was thinking that you could be trusted Did you have to ruin what was shining? Now it's all rusted Did you have to hit me, where I'm weak? Baby, I couldn't breathe And rub it in so deep, salt in the wound like you're laughing right at me Did you think we'd be fine? Still got scars on my back from your knife So don't think it's in the past, these kinda wounds they last and they last. Now did you think it all through? All these things will catch up to you And time can heal but this won't, so if you're coming my way, just don't... Band-aids don't fix bullet holes... If you live like that, you live with ghosts... If you love like that, blood runs fast."
