However, I would like to sincerely thank those who thought this mod should be on this list for their support. Of course I know there are some users who think I don't deserve to be here, but I had to show a huge thank you to those who loved this mod and voted for it. While there are many young people who now think of DOOM as a game to play on a smartphone, I am an old man who used to play DOOM seriously on an old computer that was much bigger, heavier and more ancient than modern computers. As time passed, two DOOM mods came out that had a huge impact on me: "Brutal DOOM" and "Real Guns Advanced." For those of you who don't know what "Real Guns Advanced" is, it's a great mod made by a modder with the same mindset as me right now that brings Call of Duty weapons to DOOM. However, this mod was not compatible with "Brutal DOOM" at all. I wanted to connect these two and that was the beginning of my project. Originally, it was a completely personal project and I had no intention of releasing it as a mod. However, when I first posted this gameplay video on YouTube, I got a lot of messages from people who wanted to play it, so I decided to release it. It was called "CALL OF DOOM." It's not a success story where the MOD has smoothly evolved from there to what it is today. Arrogant critics who expect me to create AAA quality work. Veteran DOOM players who try to get me to remove something because they don't like it. Kids who trash my MODDB page, Youtube comments, and send me death threats. CALL OF DOOM was attacked multiple times by many people, and as I fled and disappeared, someone else shouted "This mod is dead!" and treated me as if I was dead. In such a desolate environment, who would want to create mods for the community? If I were a much nicer person, this mod would have been abandoned a long time ago. I threw all the annoying critics' opinions in the trash and focused entirely on making only what I loved, and the result is CALL OF DOOM: TARKOV. This is the main reason why I don't build my own team. The world would be a more peaceful place if everyone understood that mod authors are, for the most part, unpaid volunteers, and refrained from praising or criticizing their work in comparison to the specific work of others. However, I understand that such a kind world does not exist. Many great MOD creators will continue to appear and disappear. If there is anyone reading this long piece of writing who wants to create and publish some kind of mod or their own work, my advice to you is simple. "Purely good people don't live long. Sometimes it's important to have a bad heart." I'm always grateful to the people who support CALL OF DOOM. The project will continue as long as I keep playing DOOM. Thank you.
