Ghaziabad: In a shocking incident, a minor Muslim boy was mercilessly beaten up by a man for drinking water from a temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad near Delhi. A video of the incident recently surfaced and spread like wildfire on social media platforms, prompting the Ghaziabad Police to trace and nab the accused. In the viral video, the man can be seen asking the boy to tell him his name. As the boy tells his name, the man learns that he is a Muslim and gets agitated. Following this, he questions him for stepping on the premises of the temple. The minor replies that he came to the temple to drink water. The man flares up in rage and begins brutally punching and kicking the minor as another person, present at the spot, films a video of the gruesome act. Police take cognisance of viral video After taking cognizance of the 27-second long viral social media video, the Ghaziabad Police sprang up in action and nabbed the man who was seen assaulting the boy in the video. The arrested accused has been identified as Shringi Nandan Yadav, a native of Bihar’s Gopalpur, the Ghaziabad Police informed on its official Twitter handle. An offence has been registered against him under relevant provisions, the police added. Another incident In another incident, a five-year-old girl died after being run over by a speeding tractor-trolley in Jawali village with the jurisdiction of the Teela Mode police station limits in Ghaziabad. The incident happened on Thursday morning when the now-deceased girl, identified as Urmila, was headed to a market to buy sweets, police said, adding that the driver, after the accident, abandoned the vehicle at the spot and fled.
