Is the most crowded beach in Mallorca still enjoyable and worth a visit? Let's find out by spending a day on Es Trenc beach, Majorca. This beach is so busy in summer that we normally avoid it, we decided to give it a try mid September and there are still a lot of people! Where is Es Trenc? Platja d’es Trenc is located in the South of Spanish island Mallorca. It is commonly considered Mallorca’s most beautiful wild beach, although it probably shares the podium with famous Calò des Moro. Unlike its competitor, Es trenc is a sandy long beach with a shallow shore, which makes it ideal for families with children. Salinas d’es Trenc The playa de Es Trenc is located inside a nature reserve where there is also a natural sea salt harvesting area called Salinas d’es Trenc, one of the most famous in Spain. On the Salinas grounds there is a famous shop where you can enjoy a snack, buy salt and many more local products. How to get to Es Trenc? The drive inside the nature reserve takes around 10 minutes, depending on traffic, before reaching the beach parking. The parking is very big, but often gets full in summer with cars queuing to enter. We recommend getting there before 9 a.m. or later in the afternoon. The parking costs 8 euros for cars and can be paid by card, which is not the case on other beaches in Majorca. Things to know before going to Es Trenc. Es Trenc is a wild beach, which means there are no sunbeds and umbrellas to rent. People usually come here with umbrellas, chairs and thermal bags for food and water. There are however people selling umbrellas and water to tourists in high season. There is also a cafe right on the beach where you can get drinks and a sandwich. Being a wild beach, there are no trash cans so everyone takes their trash with them. If we are all mindful about gathering our trash we can preserve the beauty of this amazing place. Things to do on Es Trenc beach. There are no rentable paddle boats or kayaks here. Being a wild beach, people who come here are usually laid back and looking to simply relax. Enjoy the beautiful water, one of the most beautiful in Spain. ATTENTION Es Trenc is also famous for being a nudist beach. You should keep this in mind before going there. Closest towns The closest coastal town is Colonia de San Jordi. The biggest town close to Es Trenc is called Campos and there are lots of supermarkets there. Next to Es Trenc there is also another smaller sea town called Ses Covetes, where there is also a beautiful beach very similar to Es Trenc. The beach is called Ses Covetes/Sa Rapita and is a good alternative to Es Trenc in high season.
