ASELSAN introduces the GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense System

The GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense System will be exhibited at IDEF 2023 as an innovative ASELSAN air and missile defense system that offers the use of multiple interceptors (guns and missiles) against very low air and low altitude threats. GÜRZ sits on an 8x8 armored rubber wheeled platform and stands out with its superior technological features. The system will work against UAVs, helicopters, fighters, cruise missiles and air-to-ground munitions. With the changing conditions of war, the need for highly mobile air and missile defense systems is increasing. The GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense System will protect fixed facilities and convoys en route from air threats. Thanks to the system's superior target detection, diagnosis and tracking capabilities, its deterrence suite, advanced threat assessment and weapons allocation solutions, the system offers high destructive power against threats in a cost-effective architecture. GÜRZ Air and Missile Defense Systems; It consists of components such as 35 millimeter Air Defense Gun (Particle Ammunition Family ATOM, HEI, TP), 4 Very Low Altitude Air Defense Missiles, 4 Low Altitude Air Defense Missiles, 4 Active Phased Array Search Radar (AESA), fire control radar, electro-optical sensors and data link. While MANPAD Missiles like SUNGUR or STINGER are used in Very Low Altitude areas, BOZDOĞAN Missiles are used as Low Altitude Missiles. GÜRZ's patent image was shared as 'Turkish Pantrsir' by a Russian user on social media about a year ago. However, GÜRZ is predicted to have far more advanced features than Pantsir.
