Today’s dive in Southern California, off San Diego, was all about chasing sheephead in the kelp. Conditions looked promising, the water was alive, but the sheephead just weren’t cooperating. No luck putting one on the stringer today. But the ocean always has surprises. Instead of sheephead, I came face to face with a huge moray eel tucked deep in the rocks—an incredible sight and a reminder that every dive brings its own kind of reward.
