I finally cruised my narrowboat all the way to the end of the River Weaver at Weston Point — one of the least-visited stretches of waterway. Here you’ll find abandoned locks, the remains of a once-important church, and echoes of a forgotten past. Not many boats venture here… and after my visit, I can see why! Along the way, I share the history of this mysterious place and have a laugh — until things take a turn when a grumpy worker boots us off the land, telling us it’s private property.
