Nearly 10 years since the twin attacks that shook the Belgian capital, Brussels, on 22 March 2016, we sat down with Catherine De Bolle, Executive Director of Europol. In 2016, De Bolle was at the head of Belgian Police. Today, as the Director of Europol, the work to fight terrorism and violent extremism across the European Union continues. On the European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism, we take a moment to honour and remember the lives lost to terrorism and the survivors who hold the scars of these terrible crimes.
