Today we celebrate the release of Charles Heidsieck Brut Millesime and Rose Millesime 2018 as we sit down with Chef de Cave Elise Losfelt. Charles Heidsieck Brut Millésimé 2018 is a blend of six Grands Crus and Premiers Crus meticulously selected by the House, expressing magnificent minerality, intensity and acidity. This exceptional cuvée was aged for ten years in Gallo-Roman Crayères. True to the Charles Heidsieck style, Millésimé 2018 already displays all the elegance and power of an outstanding vintage, qualities which will only be enhanced with time. 17/20 Jancis Robinson Feb 2025 “Savoury, tight bead with some hint of blackcurrants(!), and a little richness and lemon sherbet on the long finish. Definitely not an austere grower's champagne! Quite long and flattering. Hint of cordite. Sweeter than average for a top champagne but it really builds on the end. ” The Rose champagne presents an excellent ageing potential, aged on the lees for more than eight years. It is made from a selection of around eleven Crus throughout Champagne. The grapes which contribute the red wine content originate from Ambonnay, Bouzy, Hautvillers, Les Riceys and Verzenay. The delicate effervescence reveals the aromatic complexity of this blended rosé which is famed for its incredible harmony and depth. 18.5/20 Nick Baker Mar 2025 “The addition of 9% red wine from predominantly Bouzy brings an exciting rich red fruit profile and a twist of spice. The velvety texture is chalky soft, with more of the classic PN fruit showing as apricot, bitter orange & sweet peach. The rose is more expressive of the pair showing fruits like rich dark cherry, blackberry and pomegranate. Super delicious expression of a 2018 with plenty of acidity on the finish. Enjoy now and for at least 15 years.”
