With an increase in infection control breaches during assisted blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration across the country, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is concerned about the associated risk of spreading bloodborne pathogens. This 10-minute video provides best practices that can be implemented in any healthcare setting, including hospitals and long-term care facilities, as well as at health fairs, schools, camps, and correctional facilities. This video was made possible through collaboration between the Oregon Patient Safety Commission and the Oregon Healthcare-Associated Infection Program at the Oregon Health Authority, with funding made possible (in part) by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant. The views expressed do not necessarily reflect the official policies of the Department of Health and Human Services, nor does the mention of trade names, commercial practices, or organizations imply endorsement by the U.S. Government. Spanish translations for the Infection Prevention Education video series are all available on the Oregon Patient Safety Commission YouTube Channel: http://www.bitly.com/IPTrainingVideos...
