Marcos Jr.: Duterte's arrest was just gov't doing its job | ABS-CBN News

MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte was just the government doing its job. The president addressed the nation on late Tuesday evening, confirming the arrest of Duterte and the destination of the chartered flight he boarded on the same night. Marcos Jr. also said his administration was consistent with what it were saying before, that it was not helping the International Criminal Court (ICC) with its investigation. He said the acts of the government was just them obliging the Interpol of its request to arrest Duterte and "it just so happens that the warrant came from the ICC."
