On Board Loganair‘s ERJ-145! Engine Start, Taxiing, Full Takeoff & Landing.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Loganair. On my trip to the Isle of Man, I found the perfect chance to fly with Scotland’s regional airline. The route from Edinburgh to the Isle of Man is like the previous flight Zurich-Edinburgh one of my favorites. On September 29th, when I flew, Loganair operated their Embraer 145 (G-SAJE), powered by two Rolls-Royce AE 3007 engines located at the end of the rear fuselage. I naturally placed myself all the way to the back, next to the engines, on Seat 19A of the single row. After engine start and taxi to runway 24, we took off at 7 o'clock in the evening. We passed through two cloud layers when I caught sight of the evening mood over the Irish Sea. Once we reached our cruising altitude of 23’000 feet, we received a cozy cup of tea. After a few turns over the south of the island, we flew with a low and level approach (I was already wondering why the four PAPI lights were red) until we reached the glide path. After just a slightly extended flare, we touched down beautifully, using the full length of runway 26. Overall, it was an incredibly pleasant flight, a wonderful mood on board a great aircraft, operated by a fantastic airline.
