The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (hashtag#ODI) was established in January 2010. ODS works with Programme Offices and faculty to ensure that students’ learning experiences are excellent both inside and outside the classroom. To extend this further we are now encouraging hashtag#IIMBAlumni to work together to make an even bigger impact. hashtag#ODSConnect sessions amplify the voices of our alumni as a means of reconnecting with the Institute—from enrolling for the CAT to experiencing life on campus and beyond—and discussing how they look forward to supporting our students through hashtag#mentorship and other evolving services. In our first session, we have PGP 1998 alumnus K. Sriram, who reflects on his journey as one of the first visually challenged individuals to join not just IIM Bangalore but any IIM. In a candid conversation with Michael Sequeira PGP 2010, he shares what inspired him to take the hashtag#CAT exam, key motivators in his life, and his experience adapting to a challenging environment at IIMB. They discuss hashtag#accessibility at a time when formal support systems were still evolving and how the kindness of faculty, peers, and batchmates, along with iterative changes to processes facilitated an hashtag#inclusive and hashtag#equitable learning environment.
