Kapit Bisig para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP) is ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation's river rehabilitation project. Launched on February 24, 2009, the project began with the redevelopment of one of the dirtiest waterways in Metro Manila, the 2.9-kilometer Estero de Paco. The idea behind this approach is that the clean-up efforts will be futile if the esteros draining into the Pasig River is not rehabilitated as well. The ripple effect of cleaning Estero de Paco was profound. The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission, together with other government agencies, has now taken on the "esteros-first" approach and with the partnership of KBPIP, is now taking on 16 more esteros in Metro Manila and have current plans to begin the rehabilitation of Pasig River and Manila Bay.
