Dr Clare Slaney Slaney is a breast cancer researcher at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, and in 2012 was awarded a 4 year NBCF Post-Doctoral Fellowship. After doing a PHD in immunology, Dr Slaney’s research now focuses on cancer immunology. The main goal of her research is about turning the body’s own immune system to fight against its own cancer. In this video Clare talks about her research, the importance of funding and how it will help get her research to the clinical trial stage, plus gives her thoughts on our aspirational goal of zero deaths by 2030. ------ The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading community-funded organisation in Australia raising money for research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. Our aspirational goal is to achieve zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
