Excel Report Builder reports are based on SmartLists in Dynamics GP, and they have the additional function of automatically creating an ODBC connection to the GP database. What's nice about this is that as data is updated in GP, the Excel reports can be updated just by refreshing the Excel report. One of the ways to use Excel Report Builder is to create individual dashboard components that can be put together in one Excel workbook or worksheet for a complete dashboard.
