"I kind of have a rule about my lift video uploads - I only upload stuff that's unusual, old or anything else that you are not going to find very easily. If you want to find modern-day MRL lifts, Kone, Otis then there are plenty of these videos already on YT" (this is why I almost didn't film the first lift!) FIRST LIFT First lift is on the lower floor of a large block of flats. The block had a reception, so didn't go in in-case I was challenged as to who I was visiting. There was on door with 'lift to family services' next to the main block entrance doors, the door is not locked. I wasn't going to film this as I thought it was characterless (inc those standard black buttons!!) The lifts serves a single level, which itself is about four floors up (see stairwell when I come out). Listen for the haunting 'ghost' doors! SECOND LIFTS There are about 5 of these buildings easily seen from the elevated section of the A40. They have 20 floors. I went in there about 15 years ago - at this time they were Express with the high-up call button, a bit like: watch?v=yJhA8PlBAg4 at 2:26, but the buttons were mounted on the inner side of the door frame, like the buttons are now. Thanks to the boy that pushed the entrance door open as wide as it would go, I managed to slip in (otherwise it'll have been locked - it has a door intercom as do most blocks these days). Fairly quiet lifts, one lift serves 'even' floors, the other 'odd' numbers (standard setup for high rise). Note the featureless lift lobby on ground floor, with the lifts on either side! - very old blocks these are! I didn't have time to ride both lifts, my car was parked in someone's space!! Didn't want to come back to find my car clamped! THIRD LIFT Couldn't get into the next lift, as the call button is enabled via the intercom system. FOURTH LIFT The last lift was in a block that had no door intercom or lock. This is a LiftCran, rather quiet compared to others I have seen. The floor display inside the lift is typical of LiftCran - I have seen this elsewhere on LiftCran installations. There is normally an arrival bell, but not on this one. Odd smell in this lift, the only way I could describe it is "smells like a block of flats", but this one has a hint of leather and perfume!!
