In "A Critique of the Alt-Right's 'Cultural Marxism': A Conspiracy Theory for Inter-sectional Hate," Tanner Mirrlees explores the history, content and political uses of the alt-right’s “cultural Marxist” conspiracy theory to contextualize and scrutinize Jordan Peterson's slippery usages of the phrases “neo-Marxism,” “postmodern Marxism,” and sometimes, “cultural Marxism.” When people deploy these terms to label and scrutinize Left movements, policies and practices related to “political correctness” and “social justice,” they, by wanton error or by choice, peddle a “blue pill” to their followers that dulls their capacity for rational thought and obstructs their pursuit of knowledge about the real world. While the alt-right's "blue pill" of cultural Marxism is in mass supply, widely circulated and very addictive, its deleterious effects are being countered by a new "red pill." The video is based on my article on the topic, The Alt-Right's Discourse on "Cultural Marxism": A Political Instrument of Intersectional Hate: http://journals.msvu.ca/index.php/atl... 00:17:12 Peterson's rhetoric about "Postmodern Marxism" converges with and is taken up by the radical Right. 19:51 - 21:17 Peterson is not a victim. "When Jordan Peterson complains of middling professionals and bureaucrats imposing upon him ideas of 'social justice', 'political correctness', and 'equity, diversity and inclusivity' in the workplace, he casts himself as a victim. Yet far from being a victim, Peterson is elite; in fact, he uses his power, wealth and prestige, not to fight for the working class, but to defend the status quo." 21:18 - 22:16 Peterson is a 'ruling class intellectual': "Instead of enlightening his millions of followers about the real economic and political determinations of social inequality, Peterson keeps them in the dark."
